This really is a little of the complex one I've been focusing on. I've four primary groups. Formal, Fasion, Social and Wedding. I've Wordpress setup therefore it shows the twelve newest posts of these in a single section.

    <li>
<?php $recent = new WP_Query("category_name=social,fashion,wedding,formal&showposts=1&offset=1"); while($recent->have_posts()) : $recent->the_post();?>
<div class="show">
    <a class="thumb" href="<?php the_permalink() ?>">
        <?php the_post_thumbnail(); ?>
    </a>

    <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>">
            <section class="phototitle"><p><?php the_title(); ?></p></section>
    </a>
</div>
<?php endwhile; ?>
</li>

This works fine and that i make use of the offset function to exhibit them again and again.

Then i have a similar four groups the following this in separated boxes. So that they have a little of order.

<section class="postlist">
<h1>Formal</h1>
<hr>
<?php $recent = new WP_Query("category_name=formal&showposts=6"); while($recent->have_posts()) : $recent->the_post();?>
<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a><br />
<?php endwhile; ?>
</section>

My real question is how do you stop repeat posts in the top section therefore the postlist section may have different link game titles.

I figured it may be something related to the exclude technique and when the title already seems around the page take it off. Or maybe title is on-page and when child of top section remove or something like that along individuals lines.

The issue is the very best section is random in order to just offset it by 12.

Any input appreciated.

Cheers

You are able to collect the publish id's you already displayed after which take advantage from the [cde] exclude feature for that second query. Already displayed posts is going to be excluded then.
