I'm looking for help!

Can someone PLEASE walk me with the specifics, from beginning to end, regarding how to give a jquery wordpress plugin script to my wordpress site?

I am a new comer to Jquery and that i have looked the net during the last week. I have attempted it myself several occasions and it is simply not working. I have requested help on other forums and that i haven't received any solutions. Is something quite simple to complete?

Just to show you, I'm in need of assistance tutorials. It is simply that after I request questions regarding this on forums, individuals are giving me solutions and presuming which i know some things...I'm a beginner with jquery and that i need assistance with every step of the entire process of adding a jquery script, from beginning to end.

The script I wish to add is here now:

I wish to add it on my small home page within the theme I am using.

1) How do you call the jquery (wordpress_enqueue_script) 2) Where will i place this (above) 3) CSS - will i simply append the css in the script to my style.css file? 4) How do you call the script to action around the wordpress page? 5) How do you incorporate the html?

These are the questions which i have. I have been looking all around the internet in most cases people think that people understand how to incorporate javascript libraries to their styles....well some people beginners need assistance :-)

Any there's help appreciated!

Begin to see the Wordpress paperwork for particulars and good examples: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_enqueue_script

Use Firebug to search for errors and conflicts: http://getfirebug.com/

The slide-out menu you associated with includes images, a stylesheet, a minified version from the jQuery library and and index.html that contains the javascript from the menu.

The jQuery incorporated within the archive you downloaded isn't neccessary, as jQuery is automatically incorporated in wordpress. If you wish to add the latest minified jQuery to Wordpress get it done in the google libraries inside your functions.php like so:

function jq_load_from_google() {
    if (!is_admin()) {
        wp_deregister_script( 'jquery' );
        wp_register_script( 'jquery',
        wp_enqueue_script( 'jquery' );
add_action('init', 'jq_load_from_google');

You can append the css for your existing stylesheet or (as with the next example) combine it with the theme individually. Relabel the stylesheet to menu.css (or even the like), put the images and stylesheet inside your styles /css and /images folders and add the next for your theme's header.php before wp_head() and after your primary stylesheet:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/css/menu.css" type="text/css" />

Add the javascript (the 2nd script that consists of code, not the jQuery line) incorporated within the downloaded index.html for your theme's header.php after wp_head().

Alter the all occurences #menu within the js for your wordpress menu's ul's ID.
