I'm following a steps given here http://wordpressthemescollection.com/simple-modal-google-map-easy-modal-map-boxes-with-jquery-752.html to show a Google map inside a lightbox like window inside a Wordpress site.

However the code does not work. Checking Firebug gives a mistake "jQuery.modal() isn't a function"

I have taken steps that the jQuery and straightforward Modal scripts are loaded as well as in the page where I wish to display the map I range from the jQuery code

<a href="http://maps.google.com.." class="map">Show map</a>

....//some more code

jQuery(document).ready(function () {
    jQuery('.map').click(function (e) {
        jQuery.modal('<iframe src="'+this.href+'&output=embed"></iframe><p class="larger"><a target="_blank" href="'+this.href+'">View larger</a></p>');
        return false;
    });
});

I've got a coming suspicion that jQuery.modal(.... must be transformed to jQuery('#someid').modal() although not sure how to pull off it.

Please can someone shed some light on what is failing here.

Thank you

EDIT: When I pointed out I've already loaded the needed scripts within the styles header.php

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="/wp-content/themes/thename/js/jquery.simplemodal.1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Appears the jQuery Simple Modal wordpress plugin isn't correctly installed. Perhaps you have incorporated its js file inside your document?
