I have got a style that I am using and it is tossing posts on a slider on my small webpage but I must order how they appear. The code presently in position is:

<?php
//OptionTree Stuff
if ( function_exists( 'get_option_tree') ) {
    $theme_options = get_option('option_tree');
    $homeCategory = get_option_tree('home_category',$theme_options);
    $homeNumber = get_option_tree('home_number',$theme_options);
}
?>

    <?php
    $temp = $wp_query;
    $wp_query= null;
    $wp_query = new WP_Query();
    $wp_query->query('cat='. $homeCategory .'&showposts='. $homeNumber .''.'&paged='.$paged);
    while ($wp_query->have_posts()) : $wp_query->the_post();
    ?>

And exactly how I'd like this to become purchased will be the following:

orderby=meta_value&meta_key=event_date&order=ASC

I have not used at all option tree before in acquiring information from some theme options, so I am type of confused how I'd integrate that ordering method using the other code. Any assistance is much appreciated, thanks!

I will have to search with the documentation for that option tree, however i certainly recommend locating the values into variables before you decide to plug them in to the query. For instance, fist dump the meta value right into a variable. Then retrieve the values you would like from that array... and so forth. At any time you are able to perform a var_dump() to make certain you are obtaining the expected values.

After you have that working, you ought to be able "orderby" the right column.
