I'm developing a Wordpress-theme, and encounter an issue. I wish to have dynamic sidebars with icons, and for that reason produced sidebar.php such as this

<?php if (!function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') || !dynamic_sidebar()) : ?>

<?php endif; ?>

As well as in functions.php i authored this

<?php
if (function_exists('register_sidebar'))
register_sidebar();
?>

Now, wordpress states around the "Styles" page that under functions, icons can be obtained, however when i visit the icons-section i recieve the mistake "No sidebars defined". During my index.php i've added the road "get_sidebar()".

What might cause this, and just how will i solve it?

Try setting a title towards the registered sidebar such as this:

<?php register_sidebar(array('name'=>'sidebar1', )); ?>

Then refer to it as within the template file such as this:

<?php if ( function_exists ( dynamic_sidebar(1) ) ) : ?>
<?php dynamic_sidebar (1); ?>
<?php endif; ?>
